Who can start a campaign?
Currently enrolled students at any accredited college, university, or trade school anywhere in the world. You must be facing an unexpected setback (medical, job loss, housing, family) that threatens your ability to continue your education.
How does verification work?
After you submit your campaign, our review team checks your enrollment documents, the story you've shared, and the funding breakdown. Most campaigns are reviewed within 48 hours. If we need more information, we'll email you from hello@fundalearner.com.
What does Fund a Learner charge?
We deduct a 5% platform fee from each donation, plus standard Stripe payment processing fees. No setup fees, no monthly fees, no surprise charges.
When do students receive funds?
Funds are released via Stripe Connect after your campaign ends and we've completed a final review. Most students receive payout within 5 business days of campaign close.
What if a campaign doesn't reach its goal?
Students still receive whatever was raised. We're not all-or-nothing. Every dollar helps.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Donations on Fund a Learner are personal gifts to individual students and are not tax-deductible. Your receipt will reflect this.
How do you prevent fraud?
Every campaign is manually reviewed before going live. We verify enrollment, look for warning signs, and remove any campaign that violates our anti-fraud policy.
Can I report a campaign?
Yes. Every campaign page has a Report button at the bottom. Our team reviews reports within 24-48 hours.
